چکیده

The coconut mite, Aceria guerreronis Keifer, is one of the main pests tree (Cocos nucifera L.) worldwide. Its control mainly based on use acaricides. However, due to habitat this pest which protected by fruit bracts that act as a physical barrier, chemical often inefficient. Thus, natural enemies have been studied an alternative We evaluated functional and numerical responses Amblyseius aerialis (Muma) increasing densities A. (40, 80, 160, 240 360) additionally oviposition rates phytoseiid over 11 days different food sources: pollen, mix pollen guerreronis. Our results showed type III response, where prey consumption density increased, with maximum up 175 per predator. All allowed female oviposition. number eggs laid increased stabilized between 360 individuals, average 1.7 eggs/female. Furthermore, our all sources (coconut guerreronis) supported mean was approximately 1.5 eggs/female sources. study suggests can be effective in biological further studies are needed investigate whether explore if support development immature stages reproduction aerialis.

Geographic pattern of morphological variation of the coconut mite, Aceria guerreronis Keifer (Acari: Eriophyidae), using multivariate morphometry.

The coconut mite, Aceria guerreronis Keifer, has become one of the most important pests of coconut in the Americas and Africa and recently in Southeast Asia. Despite the great economic importance of this mite, there is a lack of information on its origin and invasion history that are important to guide the search of biological control agents as well as the adoption of quarantine procedures. Thi...

Coconut destiny after the invasion of Aceria guerreronis (Acari: Eriophyidae) in India*

The coconut mite, Aceria guerreronis Keifer, has emerged as a common menace to most of the coconut plantations in India. After its first upsurge in Kerala at the end of the 1990 ́s, the mite has spread to many states in southern and northern India, causing considerable damage. Coconut provides one third of the agricultural income in the regions in which it is grown and more than 10 million peopl...

Predation of Amblyseius longispinosus (Acari: Phytoseiidae) on Schizotetranychus nanjingensis (Acari: Tetranychidae), a spider mite injurious to bamboo in Fujian, China

Schizotetranychus nanjingensis Ma & Yuan is a mite pest injurious to the giant bamboo ( Phyllostachys pubscens ) in Fujian, China. The predatory mite Amblyseius longispinosus was explored as a potential biocontrol agent against S. nanjingensis in a series of experiments. Functional response experiments at six different temperatures showed that handling time ( Th ) generally decreased with tempe...

Evaluation of predatory mite (Acari: Phytoseiidae) releases to suppress spruce spider mites, Oligonychus ununguis (Acari: Tetranychidae), on juniper.

A laboratory trial evaluated four phytoseiid species for their potential as biological control agents of spruce spider mite, Oligonychus ununguis (Jacobi) (Acari: Tetranychidae). An augmentative biological control approach, using the predatory mites Neoseiulus fallacis Garman and Galendromus occidentalis Nesbitt (Acari: Phytoseiidae), was evaluated for reducing pest mite densities and injury, a...

Predation of Amblyseius longispinosus (Acari: Phytoseiidae) on Aponychus corpuzae (Acari: Tetranychidae)

Aponychus corpuzae is a pest of bamboo in Fujian, China. The predatory mite Amblyseius longispinosus was explored as a potential biocontrol agent against Ap. corpuzae in a series of experiments on its predation on Ap. corpuzae . The rate of prey consumption (per predator female) increased linearly with temperature from 1.35 at 15°C to 5.22 at 35°C (the relationship can be described by Y = -1.00...
